The City of Morgantown will hold a workshop to discuss proposed zoning regulations regarding Extractive Industries on Monday February 20th at 6pm in City Council Chambers. As a key stakeholder in this industry we would like to invite you to please attend this workshop.
Extractive Industries Planning and Zoning Workshop
Planning Commission President Peter DeMasters has, in accordance with the Planning Commission’s Bylaws, duly called a workshop. The purpose of the workshop will be to study the issue of extractive industries under the Planning and Zoning Code. Workshops are not considered regular or special meetings and may not include the formal conduct of business, the rendering of decisions, or taking action for which the Commission is charged. Workshops are open to the public and are intended to serve as training, study, public education, etc.

Follow the paper trail - So how did the announcement of this public meeting get here? First Heather sent it to Kitty Lozier (1), who sent it to the Natural Resource Committee of Morgantown-Mon LWV where Jonathan Rosenbaum (2) picked it up and sent it to the Energy Committee of the West Virginia Sierra Club ccing Chuck Wyrostock (3) who sent it to the Monongalia section of his mailing list where Jonathan (4) picked it up again and posted it here (5) and simultaneously on Facebook (6). What this demonstrates is how the principals of the six degrees of separation are able to make everyone aware of an important public meeting. Interestingly, Jonathan was involved more than once.
